Prescriptions
For prescription renewals please have your pharmacy fax a prescription refill request to us. In the rare circumstance that this option is not available to you please call the office to arrange for an appointment.
Narcotic prescriptions (for non-cancer pain) or other potentially addictive medication may require your doctor to ask you to sign a medication contract. This is considered standard of care by the College of Physicians and Surgeons
of British Columbia.

Covering Physician Absences
We value the personal service we provide to each our patients; however, there are times when a temporary physician (locum) maybe working in our office. We will not always have the opportunity to let you know when this is happening. Insisting on visiting only with your regular physician could put your health at risk as well as increase the wait time for other patients.
Any locum will always be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, and therefore will be a Doctor who is of an approved standard to work in our Province. They will also have access to your full medical record.

Zero-Tolerance Physical or Verbal Abuse Policy
We understand that people can become angry when they feel that matters about which they feel strongly are not being dealt with as they wish. If that anger escalates into aggression towards our staff we consider that unacceptable, and may result in your removal from our office.
Discrimation Policy
CMA is committed to creating a safe environment for staff and patients in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status or citizenship.
Therefore, CMA expects that all relationships and interactions between persons in this office will be respectful and free of bias, prejudice and harassment. We will not tolerate speech or behaviour that disrespects others (who may not necessarily be present at the time of the interaction).

Missed Appointments
If you are unable to attend your appointment please phone and cancel or do so online as soon as possible. Our office requires at least one hour notice. Missed appointments that are not canceled maybe subjected to a fee from $25.00 to $150.00. Missing an appointment or not providing sufficient notice denies other patients an opportunity to see a doctor for their medical concerns.
Uninsured Services
Unfortunately at times you may require your physician to provide a service that is not covered under the Medical Services Plan (MSP) of British Columbia or may have opted out of the plan. When requesting one of these services you maybe asked to provide payment prior to or after completion of these services.
For more information please contact our Patient Services Department.

New Physician
We ask that if you have acquired a new physician that you please advise our staff either over the phone or in person. This allows us to ensure that your medical records are in the care of your physician.
House Calls
House calls are a service provided by our physicians at their discretion.
